BootTidal.hs Modifications

I'm trying to add some custom functions to my BootTidal.hs file (I'm using VSCode on a Mac).
I found BootTital.hs on GitHub and copied and pasted it into a new file, then pointed VSCode to it.

It works but it prints this over and over in the console window:
Prelude Sound.Tidal.Context System.IO|
Is there a way to avoid this?

Also, can I put my custom functions in either of the two let blocks? Does it matter where?

Thanks

Hi Ben,

can I put my custom functions in either of the two let blocks? Does it matter where?

You definitely can ! I know I've put mine into its own let block (that I can easily copy paste from a dedicated function.tidal file I use as a back up), after the default ones. I've also added to the boot file the command line to launch link on start up.

Yes this should work. It shouldn't matter which 'let' block you put them in. If you're getting that prompt everywhere, I guess something has gone wrong with these commands

:set prompt "tidal> "
:set prompt-cont ""

Thanks all.

@yaxu, VSCode is printing Prelude Sound.Tidal.Context System.IO| what looks to be about 20-30 times in the console window when I use an unmodified BootTidal.hs file from GitHub. This happens if I just point the Tidal extension to this boot file vs it's default one.

Here's what's written in the BootTidal file if you're curious.
Any ideas?

Strange. You could try moving :set prompt-cont "" to the top

That seems to work thanks!
