Cloudsblend Howling and Feedback Problem

Hi all,
I’m having issues with Mi-ugens' Clouds and Cloudsblend.

Initially, everything worked fine after installation, but recently, when activating Cloudsblend,
I started hearing feedback or a howling noise, sometimes with an explosion-like sound.

I managed to fix it once by restarting SuperCollider, but the issue returned, and nothing I’ve tried has resolved it.

My OS is ubuntu 22.04.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  1. Doubled the buffer size in the startup file.
  2. Used different orbits to avoid sound interference.
  3. Tried starting Cloudsblend with the parameters 1 1 1 1.
  4. Checked if there was constant internal sound using s.scope (no sound was playing).
  5. Stopped all nodes with s.freeAll.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

solved
When running cloudsblend, if cloudsfreeze 1 is also activated at the same time, the feedback sound stops."

So cloudsblend is a convenience function combining 4 parameters of the clouds ugen (in order):

  • cloudswet
  • cloudsspread
  • cloudsfb
  • cloudsrvb

I strongly suspect it has to do with the values you're combining all these params with, esp cloudsfb - turn that down and see how it goes

Thanks for the reply.
I decided to split the blendsblend into separate inputs and reduced the value of blendsfb as you suggested and the problem was solved. I really appreciate your help.
