does this mini-syntax construction "{...}%..." have a name in the API?

it cannot be part of the API, as it is syntactical?
(it calls resolve_tpat which pattern-matches on TPat)

while the API is for semantical functions (that are applied to Pattern a, not knowing how that pattern was constructed?)

Are there other non-semantical functions?

There was a fork of Tidal that allows pattern durations that I think would support this sort of thing:

An early version of tidal maintained a period for patterns too. At some point I dropped it to embrace simplicity.
