(beginner here)

t> parse error on input ‘#’ - I am getting this message every time I use a # and have no idea why. Everything else seems to be running fine.

Any help would be much appreciated

maybe you are using the keyboard shortcut for single line evaluation?

  • shift+enter to evaluate the current line or selection
  • (cmd/ctrl)+enter to evaluate multiple-lines or selection

you have to use the second one when you have a block of code, such as the code on your lines 3 and 4
