Trying to run Tidal on Manjaro Virtual Machine

Hi, so I don't know if this is a weird set up, but like the title says I'm trying to run tidal on a manjaro vm. I followed the arch/manjaro installation instructions and everything is installed, but I can't seem to get any sound. I'm able to get sound when I use MiniTidal on Estuary, though, so I know it's not like the vm can't produce audio.

When I first got everything going, supercollider kept saying it "could not initialize audio", so I installed qjackctl and started jack from there. That didn't work at first, then I changed the sample rate and frames per period, and it worked very briefly. It didn't sound good, but I was getting tidal to work. But now I can't make it happen again. The thing is that there aren't any errors showing -- it's just not making sound. I'm using Neovim and everytime I enter

d1 $ sound "bd sn sn sn"

after I hit ctrl E it shows in the console

tidal> d1 $ sound "bd sn sn sn"

but no sound comes out. The only thing that looks odd to me is at the bottom of my neovim terminal it says

term://~//1136:tidal

but I don't know what that means.

Also, I don't know if this matters, but supercollider says

SuperDirt: listening to Tidal on port 57120

thanks
