Have code flash/blink when it runs?

I'm not sure if I'm posting on the right board, but I've been catching a few live performances on YouTube, and I notice some pretty cool set ups where the code flashes/blinks when it runs. How do you set that up? I'm not sure what to even Google. Thanks!
